To Tier or not to Tier, Runes of War

Scott here with my next installment on tiers.   This time I am going to take a look at the ever so popular Runes of War tier.  Now, this tier has a special place in my heart.  I never intended to get so deep into trolls but I was doing pretty good with E Madrak and I needed a solid 2nd list, which promptly became my first list.  I had dabbled with E Hoarluk prior to picking up Runes since you didn’t need all those Runeshapers.  A friend had started Runes way back when we first started playing, and he crushed us on a pretty consistent basis as we learned the game. As our playgroup got better he started jumping around and left the list behind.  Until that point the list hadn’t been all that popular it took Jason Flanzer winning a masters event for it to really take off.

To Tier or not to Tier. Machinations of Shadows

Scott here with my next article on Tiers.  This time we dive into Legion with eVayl’s Machinations of Shadows Tier 4, and is probably one of the best/most popular tiers that Legion players run.  I dabbled in Legion a few years ago back before I knew what I was doing…not that I know now but that’s besides the point.  I’d bought her, and even had her painted but never really gave her a shot.

TO TIER OR NOT TO TIER. GUARDIANS AT THE GATE

The irony of them eating an elf…

Epic Vyros is one of the current staples of  competitive play for the Retribution of Scyrah. Affectionately referred to as Griffon Spam or the ‘Murder of Griffons’ the list brought something different to the faction besides the ranged heavy/dude spam lists. It offers a decent armor skew with a ton of damage boxes giving the army some resilience.

Scrub fest: tournament battle reports

005-scrubs-theredlist

Scott and I went to a tournament at Xplanet. It’s part of a series called Store Wars and it is the second to last in the series. Lucky thing is Captain Con was going on this weekend so almost all the heavy hitters in our meta were away cavorting in the bigger meta pond, leaving 18 of us scrubs to duke it out for the scraps!

I took Cassius and Bradigus. I had been pairing Cassius with kreuger but I’ve been finding krueger too demanding and I’m starting to think I’m maybe not smart enough for him. Bradigus is very mechanical and I do pretty good with mechanical unimaginative lists (Axis tier) so I thought I’d give him a try.

Store Wars 10 From A Cryxian Player

Saturday the 18th of July was the store wars at X Planet it is my last chance to pad my 16th place and qualify for the finals.  I have only been able to attend 3 events so making the top 16 with this as my last event will be tough.  My only wish is that I could dodge Wold War.  As I don’t really have an answer for it.  And Fuck Bradigus.

I took my standard Cryx pairing Body and Soul and Goreshade 3 ponies all the time.  Here are my lists. Continue reading Store Wars 10 From A Cryxian Player

To Tier or not to Tier. Body and Soul.

Not sure what this has to do with Body and Soul but it came up on a Google search.

Scott here with my ongoing look into tiers.  This time around I will discuss one I am a little more familiar with; Dengrah 2, Body and Soul.

Cryx was my reset after Templecon this year.  A couple of us use that event to make a faction switch.  Then we play the crap out of it for the next year to see how well we can do at the next Templecon.  I switched from Trolls to Cryx,  Goreshade 3 being the main draw.

Thanks to a Mr Tom Guan, Body and Soul has been getting a lot of attention.  Even a buddy of mine jumped on it when it was first released but he played one game and moved on.  He saw the potential but never gave it a fair shake.  I thought it was interesting and wanted to give it a shot as well. So far I have played 27 games with Body and Soul, going 19-8 with it.  Not too shabby for it being a new faction for me.
